Farewell to Yasmin Ahmad..Al-Fatihah

PETALING JAYA (July 26, 2009): Close to 200 people turned up to pay their respects at the funeral of talented filmmaker Yasmin Ahmad, who passed away at 11.25pm on Saturday (25/07/2009).

The multi-racial crowd, many of them in tears, at the funeral this morning was testament to Yasmin's ability to reach across ethnic and cultural boundaries in both her films and the television commercials she created for Petronas.

The prayers took place at about 10am at Masjid Abu Bakar As Siddiq at Section 19/7A, Subang Jaya before her body was taken to the Muslim burial ground at USJ22.

Dotted among the crowd of family and friends were celebrities and politicians, including Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, Air Asia CEO Datuk Tony Fernandez, 8TV CEO Ahmad Idzam Omar, singer Jaclyn Victor, film director Suhaimi Baba and actor Rosyam Nor.

Yasmin, who collapsed after suffering a stroke and undergoing surgery for cerebral hemorrhage on Thursday, had been creative force in the advertising and film industry, having won awards and accolades both locally and internationally.

Her interracial love story Sepet (2004) was accorded the Best Film Award and the Best Original Screenplay Award at the Malaysian Film Festival 2005. It also bagged the Asian Film Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival 2005, and the Grand Prix Award at the Creteil International Women's Film Festival in the same year.

Her other films included Gubra (2006), Mukhsin (2006), Muallaf (2008) and Talentime (2009).

The 51-year-old Muar-born Yasmin, who was married to Abdullah Tan Yew Leong, began her career as a copywriter with Ogilvy & Mather before joining Leo Burnnett, where she rose to become its creative executive director.

Yasmin's sudden death leaves a void in the local filmmaking industry, and her legacy will be long remembered.

Manchester United Asian Tour - Kuala Lumpur

yup Manchester United vs Malaysia on 18/7 Saturday 5.30pm at Stadium Bukit Jalil...but before that on Friday 17/7 ada training session..weehoo! aku gi dua2 event...

Friday dapat cuti...dengan memakai jersi MU aku gerak ke stadium petang tu..sampai sana jumpe nizam ngan sepupu dia...mula2 team Malaysia buat training...pastu baru team MU sampai..baru nampak kelibat bas MU jer satu stadium dah riuh...pastu nampak kelibat org keluar dr bas dorang dah bertepuk sekali staff MU bawak bola daa..haha lawak tul..pastu baru nampak pemain2 MU apelagi kan...tak senang duduk semuanya...flash camera dah mcm kelip2 lak, mmg cantik suasana petang tu...happy tul dapat tgk team MU depan mata...walaupun skit frust Ronaldo takde huhu...



Saturday aku gi ngan my bro, disebabkan kitorang sokong dua2 so arini aku pakai baju merah and my bro pakai baju Selangor hehe...huh sampai sana jalan jem tak hengat...ntah camne leh salah masuk parking, terpaksa jauh menapak...gi entrance skali tgk nape ada org kluar balik rupanye baru perasan masuk ikut entrance kat tiket so terpaksa ar carik blue gate..abis satu stadium pusing baru jumpe huhu...kitorang siap2 beli air sbb tempat duduk jauh..disebabkan tempat penuh aku selamber je duduk kat tangga..MU menang 3-2..abis game siap tunggu kat area bas MU keluar...dapat ler lambai kat Ferdinand haha.. ;)


Disebabkan kejutan berita mengenai pengeboman di hotel JW Marriot kat Jakarta pd pagi sabtu, MU decide utk stay lama kat Malaysia walaupun dirayu Indonesia and dapat offer from Australia..Fergie telah bersetuju utk membuat satu lagi perlawanan persahabatan dengan Malaysia..weehoo! game kedua on Monday (20/7/2009) jam 8.45pm dengan tiket dijual pd harga RM58...

Michael Jackson 'King of Pop' and Farrah Fawcett dies..

Michael Jackson, best known as the King of Pop, has died. He was 50.

He went into cardiac arrest at his Holmby Hills home in L.A. Thursday (a 911 call was placed shortly before 12:30 p.m. PT), according to TMZ, which first reported the news. Paramedics were unable to revive the singer (who had no pulse upon their arrival), the site reports.

He was then rushed to UCLA Medical Center while in a deep coma before passing away, The Los Angeles Times reported.

He was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. An autopsy is set for Friday.

Michael's father, Joe Jackson, confirmed to E! News his son had a heart attack.

Born Aug. 29, 1958, Michael Jackson was the seventh child of the famed Jackson family. He kicked off his career at age 11 as a child star in the band The Jackson 5. While still a member of group, he launched a solo career in 1971.

Jackson went on to win 13 Grammys and boast 13 number one singles. His 1982 album Thriller remains the biggest-selling album of all time, with more than 26 million copies.

Farrah Fawcett has died after a long battle with cancer, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

Farrah died at 9:28 AM on Thursday at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif.

She was 62.

"After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away," Farrah's longtime companion, Ryan O'Neal, said in a statement to Access. "Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."

The actress, best known for her role in the '70s TV show "Charlie's Angels" and her iconic hair, was in the hospital earlier this month and a source close to Farrah told Access Hollywood at the time that she was not doing well.

While her condition was deteriorating, those closest to Farrah wanted to take her home for her final days.

Her death comes just days after O'Neal revealed he had asked Farrah to be his wife.

However, a source has confirmed to Access that Ryan and Farrah did not get married prior to her death.

makanan & minuman jangan citer ar...mmg banyak dorg ni sediakan...dr makanan ringan sampai yg berat..bbq ar yg best...mmg kenyang tul..

macam2 hal berlaku sejak kebelakangan ni...walaupepun aku redha dengan ketentuanNya kerana hidup harus diteruskan...patah tumbuh hilang berganti...walau sebanyak mana rintangan harus juga kita tempuhi...kekadang suka..kekadang duka..itulah kehidupan...kita kene percaya pada qada dan qadar...mane yg baik kita jadikan panduan, yg buruk kita jadikan sempadan...tiada insan yg sempurna di dunia ini dan tiada siapa yg bole mengubah hidup kita, melainkan diri kita sendiri...ingatlah dunia ini hanyalah sementara...
apepun aku berharap aku akan sentiasa bersemangat dalam menempuh liku2 kehidupan seperti lirik lagu kat bawah nih..kerana setiap yg berlaku pasti ada hikmahnya..

..insyaAllah semoga impianku dan impianmu tercapai..

site visit and school holiday

dah beli sume kelengkapan utk gi site, so semalam aku gi ar buat site visit..
ye ar lepas dengar report from sub con and site engineer..nak tak nak kene turun padang gak tengok camne progress..bile dah tgk baru ar bole update kat bos..pepagi dah keluar rumah takut aku sesat sbb takde signboard or nama jalan yg specific...alhamdulillah dapat jumpe gak tapak projek tu sampai tersesat gi Morib haha...sebelum mula keje kene ar isi perut dulu sbb bile dah kat tapak projek mane ada pape...so bagi makan dulu kat site engineer and sub con yg jaga site...bincang kat kedai kopi dulu camne nak mula keje and apa problem yg dorang hadapi...lepas dah tau story baru ar gerak masuk tapak...apepun safety first yer..

satu persatu building aku masuk..amik gambar apa yg patut sebagai bukti...senang nak buat laporan nnti...dalam ati takut gak..ye ar dah ler sume lelaki..pastu bangunan lak belum siap..besi batu sana sini..setiap langkah kene berhati2..dah ler aku ni jenis gayat..tangga lak takde pemegang..kene lak nak langkah or jalan atas titi kayu so scary yer..pastu pekerja2 kontraktor yg ada siap kaco and phewit bagai..aku buat tak tau jer..ye ar dah dorg tu ramai..tak berani aku pandang..aku tumpukan kat urusan aku jer..alhamdulillah berjaya gak aku tempuh satu ari tu..
keje construction camni ler gayanyer..keje bawah panas terik, berdebu and bau2 yg kurang menyenangkan sume ada ar.. (huhu tandas mane de lg, so melepas jela sana sini uwek :P), memang menguji kesabaran tul..aku mmg respect ar klau sesape yg involve keje camni laksanakan tugas dgn amanah..


Alang2 aku dah kat banting nih..kene ar singgah kampung halaman kan..ye ar dah dekat pun..lgpun aritu de janji ngan anak sedara nak tgk movie bile school holiday...so sampai jer kat umah mak long suh ler dorg sume bersiap..kitorang layan Terminator kat AEON Bukit Tinggi..skrg port kitorang kat situ je la..dah dekat sgt..pastu gi shopping sat, tolong anis carik hadiah utk birthday ayah dia and then kitorg belikan kek choc banana kat secret recipe..balik umah mak long balik, tgk sume dah siap, mcm2 juadah de laksa, rojak...makan2..borak2 dgn sepupu yg ade sampai tak sedar dah lewat..pe lagi aku pun gerak ar balik ke KL..
seronok sekali sekala dpt berkumpul ngan sepupu aku and bertukar cerita..nak nyer tgk anak2 dorang sume dah besar2..dulu kecik aku pimpin, skrg bile kluar same dah mcm member2 aku lak..rasa cepat tul masa berlalu..

Ulangtahun KRU ke-17 and Merong Mahawangsa

Monday 8/6/2009 bertempat di Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan telah berlangsungnya Majlis Kesyukuran sempena Ulangtahun KRU ke-17 dan juga doa selamat bagi pengambaran Merong Mahawangsa yang akan bermula esoknya. Majlis bermula selepas solat Maghrib..so solat dulu then baru kenalkan pelakon and jamuan..masa lepas solat tu ingat nak snap pic kru yg berada di barisan hadapan..tp cam tak sesuai lak kan..and sesi soal jawab dgn press dilakukan selepas norman solat isyak.. huhu siap de wartawan dgr tersentap u.. ;)

Filem Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa ini adalah arahan Yusry dan pada majlis tersebut KRU telah memperkenalkan barisan pelakon-pelakon tempatan dan antarabangsa iaitu Stephen Rahman Hughes, Jing Lu, Gavin Stenhouse, Henrik Norman, Wan Hanafi Su, Khir Rahman, Dato Rahim Razali, Ummi Nazeera, Nell Ng, Craig Fong, Keith Chong, Jehan Miskin, Cat Farish, Deborah Henry, Ravi Sunderlingam, Kuswadinata, Mano Maniam, Cico, Vanida Imran dan Faiz Aizuddin Azmi (pemenang Drama Pendek ERA).

Filem epik arahan Yusry aka abgchik ini merupakan filem terbesar di bawah pengarahannya telah mendapat sokongan geran "e-Content" dari Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi..dan aku sangat bertuah kerana berkesempatan mendengar penerangan dari abgchik yang mereka telah menyediakan 4 buah kapal untuk filem tersebut. Pengambaran filem ini kebanyakannya akan dibuat di Terengganu..so pada mereka yg berada di Terengganu bole ar menyaksikan sendiri bagaimana filem ini dibuat..and dengar kata mereka menggunakan stuntman yg pernah bekerja dengan Jacky Chan..dasat ni tak sabar nak tengok camne hasilnya nnti. Pada yang hadir mlm tu mereka diberi cupcakes yg cute hasil buah tangan dari emylia iaitu wife edry..yup majlis malam tu bukan saja ada press, pelakon and staff, malah turut dihadiri semua ahli keluarga kru..thanks to felicia and abgchik ;) ...yg kelakarnya bile ada wartawan tanya siapa aku..ops! jangan gosip ya haha :P ...disebabkan battery aku weak so tak dapat ler bergambar sakan huhu..

owh! btw aku berkesempatan gak berjumpa with my cyber fren Amy (president dafi fc)...thanks sudi tegur malam tu dear...appreciate sangat..tak sangka bermula dgn pic my dad with her dad memulakan persahabatan antara kami berdua..nice knowing u dear..hope we can meet again or maybe hang out together (at dafi event lak kan hehe..)..i'm so blessed ;)
